Ste-Foy Bodies of Water

One of the world's greatest rivers, the Saint Lawrence gushes freshwater from the Great Lakes for 1247 kilometres (775 miles) to the Atlantic. It has been used for centuries for shipping into mainland North America. However, its usefulness fails to outshine its beauty. Near Kingston, the river is peppered with many islands, aptly called the Thousand Islands. Affection for this region stretches back for thousands of years to Native Canadians who named it 'The Garden of the Great Spirit'.
