Ste-Foy is a bastion of modernity in history-obsessed Quebec
City. Located just west of downtown Quebec, Ste-Foy is the transportation
hub for the Greater Quebec
City region. The Aeroport
International Jean-Lesage and two major bridges across the St. Lawrence River—the
historic Pont
de Quebec and the modern Pont
Pierre-Laporte—are all located in Ste-Foy. There is plenty to see and do in
Ste-Foy. The Parc
Aquarium du Quebec features an indoor pavillion and a 16 hectare outdoor park,
which help house the over 3,500 marine specimens living within the park. For those
interested in shopping, several major shopping centres—including Eastern Canada's
largest shopping mall, Place
Laurier—can be found in Ste-Foy. The city is also known for being the home
to one of Canada's most respected institutes of higher learning, Universite
Laval.
